Riding through turkey was my first confrontation with adventure challenges on the silk road trip (Ace to Ace). During this trip I had in my mind that Kevin would bet that I wont exceed Turkey on this trip. This was my target, to finish what I have started. That day I was reaching Cappaducia, leaving zafranbolu in Turkey and road was full tarmac however there were lots of twisties and by reaching the last 30 Km it started to rain. For some reason I was riding alone, because I have chosen to go slower especially with hearing all the stories Kevin was telling me about riding on Turkish tarmac when it rains. I was not sure if I would even make it to Turkey, lost track of UB & Antoine who were riding with me, and ended up alone. To me the riding style Kevin is using was new, we follow the notes, check the satnav, and use the actual maps. But follow the notes as first thing. Back then I was relying on the Satnav and getting lost and sometimes reaching before everybody else, only because the satnav would take the fastest easiest shortest roads, while Kevin uses interesting routes always, things to see, restaurants, temples. Etc. it took me a while until I realized I was doing it wrong. On this photo I was proud that I made it to cappaducia where lots of great food, air balloons, and much more fun. Stopped for a photo and continued my last 30 KM. upon reaching the town I bumped into the Kiwis,( a couple from New Zealand on a BMW GS) who were getting lost and got me lost with them around the town, but we made it.
